Southbrook Students exists to lead students toward full devotion to Jesus Christ. Our desire is to REACH non-believing students, to CONNECT them with other Christians, to help them GROW in their faith, and to challenge them in growing to DISCOVER their ministry and HONOR God with their life.

 

Our volunteers have a passion for seeing students embrace a full life with Christ.

 

Group Leaders | Assistants who help with Sunday morning and evening services and life groups.  These leaders are small group facilitators and must demonstrate a competency for leading small groups via a curriculum.  This position is for the type of person who is relationally driven and who is willing to put in the extra mile when a student has questions about life.  

Time Commitment - 3 hours per week (on the weeks that you serve)

Ideal Spiritual Gifts - Leadership, hospitality, administration, organization, service

Skills Needed - Heart for youth; organizing and planning, recruiting, working with volunteers

 

First Impressions Team | These assistants will be on the front line of welcoming students at all of our events.  The goal of this team is to help integrate students into the service by personally escorting them over to the main service area and making themselves available for questions about the ministry.  Additionally, team members oversee a group of student volunteers who assist with welcoming students and parents and they are the point people for our visitor’s table.  This position is for the outgoing type of person who wants to help students feel connected.                                                                                                                                 

Time Commitment - 3 hours per week (on the weeks that you serve)

Event/Fundraiser Leader | This person coordinates fundraising activities to raise funds for mission trips and various youth events. They will build and lead a team to search out, plan, organize and create ways to assist students in raising funds to serve Christ locally and abroad.

Time Commitment - 3-4 hours weekly

Ideal Spiritual Gifts - Leadership, administration, organization, services, creativity

Skills Needed - Heart for youth; planning & organization, ability to handle money, research & creative thinking

 

Volunteer Coordinator | Assists with the staffing of various ministry events and functions.

Time Commitment - 2-4 hours weekly

Ideal Spiritual Gifts - Administration, creativity, encouragement, service

Skills Needed - Heart for youth; excellent in communication, friendly demeanor

 

Worship Leader | Coordinates all worship activities for the student ministry.

Time Commitment - 4-6 hours weekly

Ideal Spiritual Gifts - Creativity, encouragement, service, organization

Skills Needed - Heart for youth; excellent in communication, friendly demeanor, must have musical skills

 

Student Leaders | Students who assist in various ways in the different environments - drama, worship, production, technology, set up/tear down, greeting, worship, and administration.   Additionally, these students can serve in Children’s ministry as well.

Time Commitment - 2-4 hours weekly

Ideal Spiritual Gifts - Administration, creativity, encouragement, service.

Skills Needed - Heart for youth; excellent in communication, friendly demeanor

 

Administration/Communication | Behind the scenes is where it all starts. Data entry, copying, mailings, phone calls, etc. are a few of the tasks with which this team helps.

Time Commitment - Flexible

Ideal Spiritual Gifts - Administration, service, helps

Skills Needed - Organizational; computer experience, Microsoft Office
