These volunteers at Southbrook serve God by helping to keep our offices running smoothly on a day-to-day basis, hosting special events, and ministering to people in our church and our community in times of need. If you are a behind-the-scenes, detail-oriented person, this could be a great place for you!

 

Office Team | Volunteers serve at the Weddington campus by greeting daily visitors, answering phones, and doing various office tasks.

Time Commitment - 2+ hours, 1-4x month, weekdays during business hours

Skills - basic phone and computer skills, training provided

Age requirement - 18 and older

 

Data Entry and Guest Connections | Ever wonder what happens to the connection cards from the weekend? You can help in the office or from home to get members and guests connected to various ministries. Volunteers on this team also help with data entry from Special Events.

Time Commitment - 1-2 hours, 1-4x week/month, Sunday-Tuesday

Skills - basic computer skills, additional training provided

 

Special Events Team | This team is for those people who have a servants heart but are more comfortable “behind-the-scenes.”  They help the Southbrook staff plan and carry out quarterly events by gathering needed supplies and serving the day of the event. They work closely with our Hospitality Team. Events include: Baptism, Newcomer’s Lunch, Impact classes, and various other events.

Time Commitment - Once a month- quarterly throughout the year, hours vary

Skills needed - friendly, organized, detail oriented

Age requirement - 16 and older

 

Hospitality | If you enjoy serving and ministering to those who serve, then this is a perfect fit for you!  Every weekend we have hundreds of volunteers who give hours of their time to help make Southbrook inviting and safe for those who call it home as well as the many visitors who walk through the doors.  In our volunteer hospitality room, all church volunteers can come for refreshment and a brief respite from their Sunday duties. Our hospitality team serves our servants!

This team also works with our Special Events Team to help organize food and décor matching the given themes of Southbrook special events.

Time commitment - 2.5-4 hours per weekend, 2x month and additional quarterly/annual special events

Skills needed - friendly, motivated, energetic, detail-oriented

Age requirement - 16 and older

New Believers Team | The volunteers on this team have hearts for people who are making new commitments to Jesus Christ. Team members follow up with new believers via email and phone calls to get them connected to other believers and answer questions they might have.

Time Commitment - Times vary, 1hour/week on an ongoing basis

Skills - growing & maturing Christ-follower, Southbrook partner, praying with/for others

Age requirement - 18 and older

 

Crisis Response Team | People who serve on this team are the hands and feet of our church during a time of crisis, whether it is an illness, death, or other unexpected life circumstance.  Formerly called the Bereavement team, volunteers have expanded their scope of care for the hurting in our church family by coming along side Life Groups to support those in need. Some of the ways Crisis Response Team volunteers care for individuals and families are: provide meals, do hospital visitation, prayer, encouragement, childcare and rides (if needed), lay counseling, and funeral assistance.

Time commitment: varies

Skills: compassion, empathy, emotional strength in times of crisis, spiritual gift of 'helps'

Age requirement: 18 years old +

 

 

Count Team | The count team is responsible for counting all tithe and offering that comes in.  Each week, working as a team, they create a report sheet of the collected funds, prepare the deposit slip and make the deposit. Team members must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and reliability, have an ability to count money and total checks on a calculator, and must have a consistent history of tithing.

Time Commitment/Weddington – 2 Sundays a month, must attend 9:00 a.m. service then serve from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm

Time Commitment/Monroe - 2 Monday mornings a month from 8:00 am to 8:30 am at the Weddington Campus

Skills Needed - Excel, data entry, calculator, and counting.

Minimum age - 18 and older
